01. Become an Airline-Ready® Student

Earn a dual license (EASA & FAA CPL (ME/IR) with Frozen ATPL), providing all the required licenses to begin your commercial pilot career. At OSM, quality and professionalism are fundamental to our training philosophy, ensuring you develop the skills and mindset airlines look for. The program includes one year of training in the USA and one year in Norway, offering a unique dual-continent experience that allows you to fly in different climates, operate in diverse airspace, and gain valuable real-world aviation skills.

02. Direct Pathway to the Airline Assessment

As an OSM alumnus, you receive access to an exclusive Norwegian recruitment link when the airline is hiring pilots. This creates the opportunity to join Norwegian using your OSM flight hours alone, with no additional flight experience required. Norwegian selects the candidates they wish to invite for assessments, and as an OSM alumnus, you are eligible for interview consideration. One of the final courses in the OSM program is the APS/MCC, which focuses on Multi Crew Cooperation, communication, and airline-style operations—key competencies evaluated during the Norwegian assessment. Following the interview and assessment process, Norwegian selects successful candidates to join the airline as First Officers.

03. Become a First Officer on the Boeing 737

Once accepted by Norwegian, candidates complete a Boeing 737 Type Rating, a specialized course that teaches you to operate this specific aircraft. The training is conducted according to Norwegian’s standards, and the cost is fully covered by the airline. Upon successful completion of the Type Rating, you officially become a First Officer on the Boeing 737, flying passengers to a variety of destinations and beginning your professional airline career.

NORWEGIAN + OSM AVIATION ACADEMY

We are excited to announce that Norwegian and OSM Aviation Academy have signed an exclusive agreement to further strengthen their longstanding partnership.

OSM will train the next generation of Cadet First Officers for Norwegian on the ‘Airline Ready®’ Program.

After successful graduation, selected candidates will get the opportunity to join Norwegian flying the B737 NG & MAX as First Officer.

Norwegian is a large and expanding low-cost carrier operating airplanes with an order for 50+30 Boeing B737 Max – Norwegian offers a high-frequency domestic flight schedule within Scandinavia and Finland, and to business destinations such as London, as well as to holiday destinations in the Mediterranean and the Canary Islands, transporting over 30 million people in 2016.

How to Apply

In order to be eligible to start at OSM Aviation Academy, you’ll be required to pass our online based admission test. The admission test will check your abilities to become a pilot, by testing, amongst other things, where your strengths and weaknesses lie. Passing our admission test will show you have good prerequisites to become a solid pilot.

A passed admission test is valid for one year.

When the application is received by us we will issue you a contract which has to be signed within 14 days. After the contract is signed and the registration fee of 25,000 NOK/SEK has been paid, your seat at the school will be secured. Continuing from there, you will be contacted by our student coordinator with practical information regarding the course start.

You will need to obtain an EASA & FAA Class 1 Medical Examination as soon as possible. EASA medical must be issued by Swedish CAA (the medical procedure can still be done in Norway, Sweden or The Netherlands).
